Random Thoughts

Is to know the future to be trapped by it?

Why don't I clearly see the miraculous hand of God, today, now, here?

Why is it that I can control the movement of electrons on the otherside of the globe but have difficulty keeping my own eyelids open in the morning?

Since you can get "lost in thought" is it possible to get "found in thought"? I seem to do the former so naturaly that I am sure I must enjoy the latter should I ever get the chance.

Can eternity have a mid point?

I've grown up (at least mostly), went to school, got a job, all the things I am supposed to do: now what?

What is the nature of time? Are things I have done in the past still "happening" at a previous time and the same with future events?

Is the future already determined or is it being made now?

What is the nature of God?

Why does God exist?

Does everybody get a chance?

What is the nature of the soul and how is it related to the body?

Why am I not in bed? :-)
That last one is a kicker. Goodnight!

The question of whether or not the past is still happening (and about time in general) depends on your perspective and how fast you're moving. Oddly enough, "fast" refers to how little time it takes something to happen.

For a photon traveling at the speed of light, the past is still happening and the future has already happened. It's all just one blip of existence from its formation to its destruction. The "inside" time of the photon is frozen, so the "outside" time moves infinitely fast and our present occupies the same point as the past and the future.

If you weren't moving at all, the opposite would be true. One "outside" moment would occupy all of eternity, and from the outside, you would only exist for a moment.

I wonder what would happen if you accelerate...
